In committing to health and wellness in esports, the GEF established a Health and Wellness Commission that taps into the expertise of a diverse group of international healthcare and wellness professionals.
This includes specialised knowledge and skills in psychology, neuropsychiatry, physiotherapy, chiropractic, sleep medicine, ophthalmology, sports nutrition, physical movement, yoga and mindfulness, as well as global academics from esports and sports science.
The GEF also forged a Global Partnership with Thomson X and established the Performance+ wellness initiative to encourage responsible esports and promote optimised performance, wellness and balanced lifestyles.
The GEF and the UNESCO have formalised their intention to collaborate and contribute towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The partnership facilitates the progress of four SGDs:
